Mahamahopadhyaya Dr. Pullela Sri Ramachandrudugaru
He is a great scholar in Vedangas, Smruti and Purana Itihasas. He is well versed in three Sastras - Vyakarana, Vedanta and Alankara and proficient in four languages - Sanskrit, Telugu, English and Hindi with highest University Degrees in each of them. He addressed the Parishath number of times on different Sastras, edited 102 Jayanthi Souvenir of Brahmasri Vuppuluri Ganapathi Sastry and also the Souvenir published on the occasion of 10 years of establishing the Parishath.

Born on 23rd October 1927 in Indupalli, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, he studied Sanskrit from his childhood, in the Gurukula System.

Examinations: "Vedanta Siromani", the highest examination in Sanskrit, securing First rank in first winning the Gold Medal in the Madras University. 

Sri Ramachandrudu started his career in his 21st year of age, as a teacher of Sanskrit which he continued for forty years in various capacities.
Profession: For three years he worked in a high school, for nine years in a degree college at his native town and joined the service in the Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1960.

Retired here in 1991 as Professor of Sanskrit and Director of Sanskrit Academi having worked as Professor emeritus in the last three years. 

While working, he obtained the three M.A. degrees in Sanskrit, Hindi and English from the Banaras Hindu University, "Vidwan" in Telugu from the Madras University and Ph.D. in Sanskrit from the Osmania University. 

He served as a Member in the Academic Bodies of the Govt. of India and various Universities. 

Was Member, Central Sanskrit Board - 1993-96; 

Member, Executive Council S.L.B.S. Sanskrita Vidyapith, Delhi for 6 years; 

Was member, Executive Council, Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati for 6 years. 

Presently Member of Executive Board, Central Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. 

Has been associated with many Sanskrit organizations in Hyderabad.
Publications: Many (about 75) research articles in English, Telugu and Sanskrit on various subjects connected with Sanskrit were published. About 140 works, big and small, of which the following deserve special mention were published:
  1. The Contribution of Panditaraja Jagannatha to Sanskrit Poetics
  2. Exhaustive Commentaries on (a) Five important works of Vedanta, (b) 15 important texts of Alankara Sastra i.e. Indian poetics, (c) Yogasutra and Kautilya's Arthasastra, (d) Valmiki's Ramayana in 10 volumes running into 9000 pages.
  3. Susamhata Bharata, a drama in Sanskrit dealing with Indian Independence struggle, its achievement
  4. Collections in three volumes of poems and stories in Sanskrit
  5. "Sanskrit Idioms and Phrases" - first of its kind in Sanskrit
  6. "The Egalitarian and Peach seeking trait of Indian Mind"
  7. "The History of Western Philosophy in Sanskrit" - first of its kind.
Profession : 
  1. "Kaundinya Smrti" 
  2. "Hinduism and seven other Religions" many problems connected with the Indian society such as untouchability, the rigidity in the Caste-system are discussed in the tome of a reformer and hailed by the readers discerning minds as works giving the pristine pure picture of Hinduism.
Awards and Titles: Sri Ramachandrudu is the recipient of many awards and honors which include amongst others:
  1. "President's Certificate of Honor" in 1987
  2. "Padmasri" Award by the Union of India in 2011
  3. Title of "Mahamahopadyaya" conferred by the SLBS R.S. Vidyapith, New Delhi in 1999
  4. Title of "Vedanta Sagara" conferred by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Math in 2006
  5. Vishwabharati Award from Sanskrita Sansthan U.P. in 1994
  6. Translation Award (Telugu) from Central Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in 1996
  7. "Telugu Atmagaurava" Puraskar from Govt. of A.P. in 2001
  8. Award for a work on literary criticism from Central Sahitya Akademi in 2002"
  9. "Vachaspati" award of Birla Foundation in 2003
  10. "Samskrita Jivavrati Puraskar" from K.S. Sanskrit University, Ramtek in 2008
  11. "Pratibhamurti Puraskar" from A.V.K. foundation USA, in 2007
A National Seminar of 3 days was conducted on Sri Ramachandrudu's works in November 2007 in the Osmania University in which 25 scholars participated.

'Vidvatsapara' (Honoring a scholar) was conducted in August 2009 by Rashtriya Samskrta Samsthan, New Delhi, in which four scholars discussed some of the works of Sri Ramachandrudu.

The Central Sahitya Akademi in the year 2009, conducted MEET THE AUTHOR seminar on Sri Ramachandrudu at Hyderabad.
