"Asupte, ramrutah kalam nayet vedanta chintaya" - Till he goes bed, till he leaves mortal coil, he always thinks of Vedanta - self knowledge, is truly established in his case. His second son Sankara Sarma and his grandson Venkata Jayarao Sarma are also Vedic and Sanskrit Pandits.
He mastered the subject Vedanta and also produced a marvelous work known as "Vedanta Sarvasvam". It is well known that Veda is divided into two parts i.e. Karma Kanda and Jnana Kanda. The first part relates to rituals and practice of Dharma, which is known as Pravrutti way of life. And the 2nd part is Jnana Kanda known as knowledge is the self, which is stated in the end of the Veda. Hence, this subject is called Vedantam. The book really justified its title fully as it touches upon all the aspects of Vedanta.
He was highly ritualstic and was continually practicing the ritual part of Vedas by performing Nitya Agnihotram and Adhyayanam and taught the same to Vedic students and the common man as well thereby expounding the concept of Pravrutti Marga and practicing Dharma to every human being.
